Prayer is more than asking God for things. In Matthew 6:9-13, Jesus gives us a model for prayer that helps us focus on five results: seeing the character of God, praying for His will to be done on Earth, trusting Him for our daily needs, confessing and extending forgiveness, and asking Him to lead us away from temptation. As we pray, we are reminded that God is both near to us and powerful enough to meet us in whatever we face. The challenge is to become people who pray consistently, individually and together, growing in our relationship with God and becoming a church known for prayer.
