James 3:16

This Father’s Day message challenges us to confront two destructive forces—jealousy and selfish ambition—and their tendency to show up even when God is doing something good. Through stories from Scripture and everyday life, we see how jealousy can turn celebration into comparison and how ambition can lead us to seek our own glory over others' success. But the cure to both is clear: a selfless life shaped by the example of Jesus. Rather than living like life is a competition, we’re called to celebrate others, value their wins, and rejoice with those who rejoice. In a culture that often encourages climbing ladders, this message reminds us to play our own hand well—and cheer others on while we do.
