God Won't Give You More Than You Can Handle
Feb 1, 2026 • Matt Santen
This sermon challenges the common saying that “God won’t give you more than you can handle” by showing how Scripture actually tells a different story. Drawing from 2 Corinthians 1:8–9, it reminds us that followers of Jesus often face circumstances that are truly overwhelming—but those moments are meant to shift our trust away from ourselves and toward God, who is powerful enough to carry what we cannot. Rather than promising an easy life, God invites us to rely on Him, receive His comfort, walk with others through hardship, and allow difficulty to shape us into people who reflect the life of Jesus. Even when external pressures feel crushing, God offers inner strength, peace, and hope as we learn to trust Him more deeply.
